Well-being during OWee
OWee is a lively and intense week filled with new experiences, social interactions, and activities. It’s fun and exciting, but it can also be overwhelming at times. That’s why well-being is our top priority: we want you to feel safe, seen, and supported so you can enjoy OWee to the fullest. On this page, you can find out who to turn to, what support is available, and what measures are being taken to make the OWee a positive and accessible experience for everyone.

Are you okay?
Since 2023, the OWee and the student associations of the VerenigingsRaad have joined forces with Rutgers’ “Are You Okay?” campaign. Posters listing points of contact for reporting inappropriate behavior have been displayed at all events organized by both the OWee and the student associations. Campaign flyers have also been distributed to participants.
During the OWee, people will be walking around wearing blue “captain’s armbands” with “Are You Okay?” on them for when participants feel uncomfortable. Because these armbands are uniform across all associations and events, they will be clearly recognizable. -
Mentors
Participants in the OWee are divided into groups of about 10 students, each with two mentors. These mentors are upperclassmen and serve as the first point of contact for participants. They guide the participants during the first few weeks of their college experience and are paid by TU Delft. They sign an agreement and are required to complete a training program. During this training, the mentors receive information about their role as role models and their responsibilities, and they are trained to handle various situations effectively.

App
The OWee app will clearly explain where you can go for any kind of help or support during, and especially after, the OWee. In addition, the app will send a daily push notification during the OWee containing a survey with questions about how participants are feeling. The responses will be reviewed daily, and action will be taken if necessary.
