OWee Program 2026

  • About the OWee

During Orientation Week, the whole of Delft is turned upside down and new students are everywhere. Of course, you won’t be on your own: together with your group and two upperclassman mentors, you’ll explore Delft and student life. Together with them, you’ll make your way through Delft and follow the OWee program.

  • About the program

During OWee, a different aspect of student life is highlighted each day. The daily program is organized by the OWee Board. In the evening, you can have dinner at the student clubs, followed by an evening program. Each club organizes different activities, so there’s something for everyone! Here’s a sneak peek at what this year’s OWee program will look like.

JUNE 10 LADIES+ INTRO

Despite women’s growing interest in technical fields of study, Delft is often still seen as a city where mostly men study. But this doesn’t mean there isn’t room for women or people with a different gender identity in Delft. On the contrary! The presence of these students in Delft is invaluable to our city. During the upcoming Ladies+ Intro, we’ll briefly transform Delft into a city where women take center stage and where everyone who identifies in any way as a woman or as a member of a minority group is warmly welcome. This event offers a great opportunity to meet and get to know other future students in your program and from all other degree programs.

Program

The program begins in the morning with a Central Welcome. Here, you’ll be welcomed to Delft and meet your group and mentors for the day. Throughout the day, you’ll participate in various workshops organized by sports, cultural, and student associations. Many of these activities will take place on campus. The rest of the workshops will be held at the associations themselves. In addition, lunch and dinner will also take place at various associations throughout the city. This will give you a good sense of what Delft has to offer. The day concludes with a fun evening program and, finally, a spectacular closing party!

JUNE 16 QUEER INTRO

In addition to the Ladies Intro, TU Delft is organizing a fun orientation day this year for queer* students in Delft to give you a warm welcome to your new college town. This day is mainly intended to help you get to know some people before you actually arrive in Delft. That way, right from the start of your college life, you’ll have some great people around you to study with and do fun things. You’ll spend the day with your group and two mentors. We’ve put together a program with something fun for everyone, from small group games to rappelling down one of the buildings. In the evening, there’s a dance workshop, an escape room, and a closing party featuring drag queens.

JUNE 5 DIPO

Are you planning to study in Delft next year? Then don’t miss the Digital International Pre-OWee (DIPO) on June 5 at 2:00 p.m.! You can watch the DIPO from home on our YouTube channel: OWee Delft.

The DIPO is essential for every international student. During the livestream, we’ll explain what the OWee is, why it’s important to participate in the OWee this summer, and what you can expect from the OWee. We’ll also tell you everything you need to arrange before coming to Delft, such as banking, housing, and other practical matters. If you have any questions, we’ll answer them during the livestream.

AUGUST 10: DIGITAL KICKSTART

Prior to the in-person OWee, there will be a digital opening ceremony, which will be streamed online.
There will be various segments, such as a talk show and the Clubs Forum, where clubs will share what they stand for. After that, you can head into the OWee with confidence!

BEFORE OWEE: Freshmen WeekendS

Before OWee, the student associations organize a Freshmen Weekend. During the Freshmen Weekend, you’ll often form your group for OWee. Not all Freshmen Weekends take place at the same time: be sure to check which dates you need to keep free.

On this page you’ll find more information about the Freshmen Weekends!
